Antalya Airport Transfers Guide

Your Options at Antalya Airport (AYT)

Taxi vs Public Transport at Antalya

Antalya is one of the airports where the distance to your resort decides everything. For a hotel in Lara or the city centre, public transport is a realistic option: the tram is frequent, cheap and easy to use with a single case. For Belek and Kemer the calculation shifts, and for Side or Alanya it stops being a calculation at all — bus connections involve at least one change and a long coastal run, usually with a walk at the end.

Airport taxis are plentiful and licensed, but they are metered rather than fixed. On a long transfer that means your final fare is at the mercy of the D400 coastal traffic, which in July and August is heavy. A pre-booked transfer removes that uncertainty entirely: the price is agreed when you book, the vehicle is sized to your group, and the driver tracks your flight.

Tips for Booking an Antalya Transfer

• Book both directions together — most providers discount a return and it saves arranging a pick-up mid-holiday.
• Check flight monitoring is included so a delayed arrival does not cost you the transfer.
• Give the full hotel name and district — resort names repeat along the Turkish Riviera.
• Request child seats at booking rather than on the day.
• Save your driver's phone number before you fly, and screenshot the voucher in case you have no data on landing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the transfer from Antalya Airport to Side?

Around 70 to 90 minutes depending on traffic on the D400 and exactly where in Side or Manavgat your hotel sits.

Is there public transport from Antalya Airport?

Yes. The Antray tram runs from Terminal 1 into the city centre, and Havas coaches and public buses serve Antalya and some coastal towns. None of them drop you at your hotel door, and services are limited overnight.

Are taxis at Antalya Airport metered?

Licensed airport taxis run on a meter, so the fare depends on distance and traffic. On the longer resort runs a pre-booked fixed-price transfer removes that uncertainty.

What happens if my flight to Antalya is delayed?

Reputable transfer companies track your flight number and adjust the pick-up automatically. Confirm flight monitoring is included when you book.

Can I claim compensation if my flight to Antalya is delayed or cancelled?

If you flew with a UK or EU carrier, or departed from a UK or EU airport, you may be covered by UK261/EC261. Our flight compensation guide explains when you qualify and how to claim.
